Siegfried Sassoon

After the War

 

 

Siegfried Sassoon had a nick name(Mad Jack) as he was so brave and impressed many with his bravery. He returned home in 1917 as he was badly wounded, but he did return to France to fight to the end of the war.  After the war he moved to America and wrote poems about his boyhood.

 

He married a lady called Hester Gatty.

They had a child called George. But sadly, after WW2, his marriage broke down.

 

Siegfried Sassoon died in 1967, on the first of September.
