John McCrae died on January 28th 1918 in France. His poem 'In Flanders Fields' became famous it made the poppy famous in Britain, France, United States and Canada and in Commonwealth country's.

It is now the symbol of WWI and on the 11th month of the 11th day on the 11th hour we remember the soldiers who sadly died in WWI.
